NEW: Lady Gaga Megamix [2013]

Hey all! As my belated end-of-the-year/holiday gift, I uploaded my new Lady Gaga Megamix to my channel.

This is the “shortened” version, though I don’t really consider 9 minutes as short as I wanted it to be. It’s actually been finished for a couple of weeks now, but I’d been holding out, hoping that Gaga would release the video for “Do What U Want.” Unfortunately, that has been taking a long time, so I got tired of waiting and just used one of her Artpop films instead. So to anyone who gets their panties in a wad about why I didn’t use the DWUW video:

Anyway, hopefully it’ll be out by the time I’m finished with the extended version, but I’m not holding my breath. Extended should be out sometime in January, along with a 2013 Chart Toppers megamix, featuring the #1 hits of the year — which means if I haven’t gotten tired of Lorde’s “Royals” yet, I will be by February.

Favorite Lady Gaga song: You and I

My favorite favorite is actually a non-single, but single-wise, it would be You and I. And I hate country, but for some reason, I love this song, even though it probably wasn’t the best choice for a Gaga song, let alone released single. It comes way out of left-field for her, but I just like the hard-hitting drums, the piano, the small-town folk feel to it, the story, the way her voice sounds — just everything. If I was smart, I would have said Poker Face or Paparazzi, but I’m not.

Favorite Lady Gaga video: Bad Romance

Nearly everything in this video is sheer perfection, except Gaga’s makeup in a couple of scenes. I love the idea of this futuristic vampire-ish sex trade. Plus the whole look of it — the colors, the costumes — it’s so crisp and so clean and just hits it out of the park. It’s the type of weird that I love from Gaga where it doesn’t feel pretentious or that it’s trying to shock — it just is. Plus, it’s only 5 minutes long, and that’s succinct in Gaga’s discography.
